My new book, When We Walked in Memory, is out today!!!!!!!!!! I love this weird little book a whole lot and Frauke, Kaourintin, and Ado are going to remain in my heart even as they go out into the world. 🙂

I’ve decided to stop putting pressure on myself to be a “productive” “writer” until I am done with grad school. Right now I am working full time, taking classes and doing my internship – some of my priorities have to change to survive this, and for now I think that means stepping back a bit from writing. I have lots of ideas for future projects and I certainly won’t stop working on them, but I just need to ease off on the expectations of writing every day and diving into another major project headfirst etc.
Whatever I do next, though, I am going to focus on 1) tightening up my plotting and pacing while trying to keep the same level of character/relationship development and 2) making the magic less convoluted.
I happen to ❤ glacial pacing and extremely intricate magic but I want to keep pushing myself to write something that may actually have Broad Public Appeal someday while also being Charlottian at heart.

My most recent donation from the Economy of Blessings proceeds is to United Palestinian Appeal. It’s one of the several organizations I originally chose to donate to and given the current atrocities occurring in Gaza, I decided that this round of donations should go entirely to UPA. I encourage anyone reading to share what they can as well.

Thank you all so much, as ever, for your support and interest in my books/posts/reviews/whatever else you happen to be here for.
